43 pounds to go!

My goal is to lose 43lbs. I decided to make a blog and keep track of my daily food intake and physical activities because I will need the encouragement and would love to share with other people who are trying to do the same thing.

Age: 29yrs old (as of nov 2010)
My height: 5'4"
My current weight: 198 lbs
Goal weight: 155 lbs

BMI Chart
Obese: 30 and over
Overweight: 25-29.9
Healthy: 18.5-24.9

With my goal weight I would still be in the overweight BMI category. But I know my body and I feel 155lbs will be perfect for me. I haven't weighed this little since I was about 21. Since then it seems like every couple of years I have added 10 lbs and while I carry the weight better than most people, getting so close to 200 is really scary. With the slow weight gain in the last decade I think its been easier for me to accept it but now it has to stop and I need to lose the weight.

Today I started with the Jillian Michaels workout "Banish fat, boost metabolism", it's a 45 minute workout. I may alternate between that and "30 day shred" (not that i expect to lose the weight in 30 days!!). I will also alternate with walking/running at the park for 45mins-1hr. Anyway, I only lasted 15 minutes on the workout! My calves are sore. More stretching tomorrow and I will try to get to 20 minutes.

Food consumption:
1 orange
1 carrot
1 cup of noodle... eeeek need to get away from processed foods.

For dinner I am making beans and rice which I will top with jalepenos, onions, and tomatoes. My diet will mainly be vegetarian because I have only started eating meat this year (after about... 15 years) and am still not really fond of it. I however LOVE fish and will probably be eating a fair amount of sushi.
